This group is for people who do not believe in Psychiatry but at the same time suffer from an emotional disorder such as depression, anxiety, or a phobia. I believe the only way to recover from these emotional disorders is through support from other people, a good diet, exercise, work and staying busy. I would also like to discuss various Anti-Psychiatry books and encourage the group to get politically active in stopping forced treatment. I strongly believe in the freedom of choice when it comes to both mental and physical health. I do not want to discuss God or religion in this group. THIS GROUP IS NOT FOR ANYONE IN A MAJOR CRISIS AND IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL HELP.

Psychiatric drugs APPEAR to work by disabling the brain. In the long run, these drugs cause more depression, mental anguish and disability than what they were trying to "cure".

SUPPORT FROM PEOPLE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR ANY RECOVERY.

What members are saying

Huge profits by drug companies causes truth to be discarded.

Jon

The leader has some great information, intentions and resources. Anyone who is struggling or just curious is bound to walk away with something.

hi, I believe in showing and sharing social support of others to help each other overcome personal emotional barriers in a constructive way. No one can do it alone.

Intrigued. Although I exist within the world of psychiatry - I do not subscribe to many of its beliefs. The DSM is not entirely a work of nonfiction.

My past has caused me to join this group. Too many judgemental psychiatrists, too many meds and several different diagnoses since the age of 19. I'm taking the wheel now. ;)
